Scone Garden Fayre

P3-7 were delighted to be chosen to represent Perth and Kinross Schools at Scone Palace Garden Fair.  This is the first time that the Royal Horticultural Society have invited schools to a Picnic Lunch at the event and it was a great success.

The children enjoyed sandwiches, fruit, juice and cakes for lunch.  They had the opportunity to see a range of ‘gardens’ that had been created for the Fair.  They designed their own plant tubs and then did some planting.  Some of the children had their faces painted and played croquet on the lawn!   Sean Batty, weatherman and presenter, joined the children and interviewed them about their day.  There was a very short clip on the STV news at 6pm.  Fame at last!

Children from P1-7 performed in their show ‘Everyone Loves a Baby’.  They did a performance for their local community and then another two for family and friends.  They all did a fantastic job and we were proud of them all!

The big, BIG ART PROJECT is back again!

Now in its fifth year, the big BIG ART PROJECT is an art exhibition of a different kind. It involves a collection of PKC Primary School pupils’ artwork being projected onto a huge wall in Burt’s Vennel, just off Mill Street (beside the car parks close to Perth Theatre). What begins on a small piece of paper or ipad in class, becomes visible for all to see on a very grand scale!

Guildtown Primary School was also invited to submit work to be included in the display. This year’s theme is Christmas Around the World.

A4 Brass Quartet at Guildtown Primary!

A4 Brass Quartet visited us recently and the children were given a fantastic, interactive performance.  They learned about the instruments, the sounds they make and were able to feel the vibrations as they were played.  Sombreros were worn for the Mexican Hat Dance and percussions instruments were shared and played to a range of other well known tunes.

What a wonderful experience for the children!
